Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
1¾ cups of self-raising flour
1¼ cups of sugar (probably caster sugar)
½ teaspoon of bi-carb of soda
¼ teaspoon of salt
1/3 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 cup milk
½ cup of butter or margarine, melted
2 eggs
Method
Sift dry ingredients into a bowl
Add vanilla and milk and beat
Add melted butter, then the eggs.
Bake in a moderate oven (180°C or 160°C for fan forced) for 20 to 30 minutes.
(RL: Not sure what sized tin – probably a greased 20cm one).
For icing
½ pound (225 grams) of icing sugar
1 dessertspoon of evaporated milk
2oz (56 grams) cocoa
3 tablespoons boiling water
Mix ingredients together.
Sprinkle cake with flour.
Apply icing with a spatula.
