Helen Horton in her own words, 2006

Helen wrote this note to Ray and her 11 children towards the end of her illness. As her children said during their eulogies, even at the most difficult of times, Helen’s thoughts were always for her family.

In Helen’s own words, 2006
Dear Father, Helen, Jane, Jennifer, Patricia, Marion, Mark, Anne-Maree, Max, David, Peter and Alan,

My wonderful, wonderful family, I wanted to convey to you all on my passing my heartfelt gratitude for the love, support and wonderful care extended to me during my period of illness. I feel truly humbled. It has for me been a real expression as to the meaning of our family.

I leave you all comfortable in the knowledge that your love and respect for one another shall be an abiding thread that will continue to bind you all to each other throughout your lives.

Please undertake to support Father, and one another.

I hope that my spirit shall remain forever with you all.

Goodbye and God bless you all

Mum
